Dr. Kozakowski (or "Dr. K") enjoys getting to know her patients and working together to achieve specific goals to improve their oral health. Dr. Kozakowski holds herself to a high standard of care and allocates ample time for each patient to ensure predictable, high-quality outcomes. You'll find her explaining the whys and hows of recommended treatment to ensure patients are comfortable with the collaborative nature of any procedures that are needed.
Education & Experience
Dr. Kozakowski grew up in Upstate NY. She attended Sacred Heart University where she earned her undergraduate degree and then continued her education at Columbia University where she received her Master of Science in Human Nutrition. She utilizes her unique training to educate patients on how their dietary choices affect their overall oral health.
Dr. Kozakowski earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from LECOM School of Dental Medicine. She completed advanced training in a General Practice Residency at St. Francis Hospital following dental school. This particular program is located at a Level 1 trauma center, where she uniquely received training in advanced dental trauma, dental implants, cosmetics, and TMJ dysfunction.
She moved to the DC area in 2021 after practicing in Middletown, CT following her residency program. She joined the team at Elite shortly thereafter. She feels fortunate to work with such a talented, well-rounded team who share the common goal of providing a comfortable patient experience and a dedication to exceptional patient care.
Dr. Kozakowski is committed to staying current in the latest advances in dentistry through her involvement in several continuing education programs. She has studied at renowned centers such as the Dawson Academy and Spear Education. She's active in the local chapter of Seattle Study Club, which is an internationally recognized network of dentists who are committed to advancing their knowledge to the highest level of comprehensive care for their patients.
She is actively working towards becoming a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, a prestigious award designated to dentists who have taken over 500 hours in continuing education courses. Dentistry is an ever-changing field in which applying new treatment developments and technology is critical to providing patients with the care they deserve.
Interests
In her free time, Dr. Kozakowski enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring the DC area, frequenting her local yoga studio, and traveling. She always welcomes travel tips and local restaurant recommendations! She looks forward to seeing you in the office soon.
