Alyssa Hartman, DDS

Philosophy:

Dr. Hartman values a comprehensive approach to dental care, with the ultimate goal being the prevention of future dental work. Dr. Hartman also strongly believes in providing the highest quality care to patients through time spent on each procedure, use of the best materials and labs, and being up to date on current materials and best practices. Dentistry is extremely detail specific, there is no rush in providing a restoration that will last! Dr. Hartman also understands how personal it is to have dental work done. She works collaboratively with patients to ensure they are comfortable with each recommendation and to guide them through their appointment no matter any dental-related unease.

Education

Dr. Hartman earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, as well as her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Minnesota. She then pursued a general residency program at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Washington, DC. This residency program is highly competitive and known for its training as residents work closely with specialists in prosthodontics, endodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, and general dentistry.

After formal training, Dr. Hartman maintained dedication to continuing education and became a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. To become a fellow, a dentist must complete 500 hours of advanced education and pass an additional board equivalent exam, an achievement only 6% of dentists attain. This accreditation represents a commitment to the use of updated technology and treatment, and being well-practiced in the field of dentistry.

Personal Interests

Dr. Hartman's passions are focused around her family as she and her husband have three young daughters and a dog who keep them on their toes! Although she loves traveling, she has recently been enjoying the simple pleasures of local parks and restaurants and keeping up with a busy household.
